**Overview** Kimley-Horn's IT Team has a challenging and rewarding entry-mid level opportunity for a Cloud Platform Engineer based in our Phoenix office. In this role, you will be working alongside a team of five professionals who manage our execution of Cloud Solutions & Architecture supporting the Cloud development platform for our various projects, both internal and external. Ranked as one of Fortune Magazine's "100 Best Companies to Work For," Kimley-Horn prides itself on hiring high-achieving, dedicated, and professionals who are passionate about the work they do. **Responsibilities** + Involvement in a variety of operational activities, such as continuous environment health monitoring, maintaining standards, and stability across our IaaS/PaaS/SaaS environment. + Initiating incident management in the event of an issue and addressing escalations + Implementing recommended modifications while adhering to change management processes, vulnerability management and remediation, and engaging in disaster recovery tests. + Identifying new cloud technologies and platforms to help solve technical challenges + Build cloud foundational components encompassing network, security, identity, operations, and governance in the cloud + Operationalize solutions from proof-of-concept through production, using automation for repeatability, maintainability, and to enforce standards + Designing technical architecture for cloud solutions that meet the needs for scalability, reliability, availability, and performance. + Cloud Capacity Planning, Profiling, Load testing, and monitoring of cloud applications, while incorporating security best practices. + Responsible for day-to-day operations of managing cloud resources which include resource allocation, optimizing capacity, and configuration management. + Function as part of a team, involving and supporting others to get the job done **Qualifications** + Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, systems Engineering, or related field of study + 2+ years of relevant experience + Microsoft Azure certification (AZ-900, AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ500) + Knowledge in the platform of Azure IaaS, PaaS, SaaS services and foundational components of compute, storage, networking, identity and access management, security, tenant/subscriptions + Understanding of Azure App Services architecture and deployment + Hands on experience with Microsoft Azure Services such as Azure API Management, Azure Database Management, Azure Security + Experience with Azure DevOps for source control, continuous integration and deployment and software development lifecycle + Experience in High Availability, geo-distributed architecture for multi-regional applications that require improved performance, and Disaster recovery implementations + Experience automating deployments using PowerShell, CLI, Terraform, Bicep.deploying & maintaining separate Development, UAT, Production, etc. environments via an IaC solution + Comfortable talking about technical issues with business partners and business issues with technical partners + Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing in diverse situations with all levels of management, vendors, clients (internal), and peers.
