Mead & Hunt has a position open for a construction engineer.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Serving as the project engineer/manager on transportation construction engineering and inspection projects in/around the eastern panhandle of West Virginia
  • Overseeing on-site and remote engineering/inspection staff
  • Monitoring construction activities
  • Conducting inspections
  • Performing contract administration tasks
  • Preparing monitoring contractor schedules and budgets and internal department budgets
  • Attending client meetings
  • Traveling to construction sites throughout the state will be required
  • A valid driver’s license is required
  • Extended hours and overnight stays will be required

 

The successful candidate will have all of the following:

  • A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in engineering or construction management from an accredited college or university
  • At least six (6) years of relevant work experience
  • a PE license in any state with ability to obtain in West Virginia within six months of start date. 

 

The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following:

  • Transportation construction project management on WVDOH projects
  • WVDOH standards, specifications, and materiel testing procedures
  • Construction management software (Site Manager or Project Wise)
  • Client management.
