Overview
The Editorial Director oversees the Haus Labs brand voice, tone, and messaging across all channels, including Marketing, Digital, Paid, Organic Social, PR, Retail, Customer Service, and internal communications. This role is both strategic and hands-on, leading the Editorial Team (full-time and freelance) while actively writing, editing, and shaping copy. You will thrive in a fast-paced, startup-like environment, moving seamlessly between high-level concepting, campaign ideation, and precise execution across multiple touchpoints.
What You’ll Do
Lead and maintain Haus Labs’ editorial voice across all communications
Concept, write, and edit copy for campaigns, launches, packaging, retail, ecommerce, social, PR, internal communications, and presentations.
Collaborate on product naming, positioning, and storytelling with VP of Product Marketing and VP of Creative
Develop storyboards and editorial content to support campaign executions.
Partner with Social and Marketing teams to implement content strategies that drive engagement and brand awareness.
Support press communications, product activations, and community storytelling.
Engage with Product Development to test and experience formulas, ensuring copy reflects authentic product positioning.
Manage freelance editorial support, providing feedback and ensuring alignment with brand voice.
Provide leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams and internal stakeholders.
Balance strategic vision with hands-on writing and editing across multiple channels.
What We Are Looking For
7+ years in beauty, editorial, or brand storytelling.
Proven ability to deliver high-concept ideas and hands-on executional writing.
Experience in both internal communications (decks, presentations, brand guidelines) and consumer-facing copy (campaigns, emails, social, retail).
Strong conceptual thinker capable of developing campaign platforms and cross-channel narratives.
Exceptional writing, communication, and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Ability to flex tone and style while maintaining consistent brand voice.
Highly collaborative, proactive, and solutions oriented.
Thrives in a fast-paced, startup environment with shifting priorities.
Strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Passion for beauty, creativity, and cultural trends.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Wrike, and G-Suite.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Preferably based near LA office for product testing.
Hybrid schedule: 3 days in-office
