Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Journeyman Electrician, you will be essential in providing service, repair, maintenance, and installation for residential customers, while also training apprentices. Your daily responsibilities include:

  • Assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures.

  • Diagnosing malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate and correct problems.

  • Connecting wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.

  • Inspecting electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, ensuring compliance with codes.

  • Advising management on whether the continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.

  • Testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices to ensure compatibility and safety.

  • Maintaining a current electrician's license or identification card to meet governmental regulations.

  • Planning the layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes.

  • Directing and training workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.

  • Preparing sketches or following blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.

  • Training and working one-on-one with Electrical apprentices.

What We're Looking For

  • Must hold a Master or Journeyman Electrical license, with an E1 license required.

  • Completed High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Must have completed a minimum of 4 years of trade school in Electrical.

  • A minimum of 4 years of related work experience is preferred.

  • Must be willing to participate in technical continuing education.

  • The ability to perform essential duties including assembly, installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems and components.

  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license with a safe driving history.

  • The ability to perform the physical demands of the job, including those described as representative of the required physical abilities.
