CrimsonXT have partnered with an AI Cloud Platform company, which, due to growth, is looking to hire a variety of positions across the data centre space. We are seeking a Principal Data Centre Civil, Structural & Architectural Engineer to join the team, ideally based on the West Coast or the Central time zone.

Role responsibilities:

The Principal Data Centre Civil, Structural & Architectural (CSA) Engineer ensures every Fluidstack facility has the bones to house extreme-density compute safely and sustainably. You will translate performance goals into site plans, structural frames and fit-outs that accelerate build schedules and cut embodied carbon.

  • Manage all aspects of the CSA system
  • Create a strategy for CSA design and deployment
  • Develop CSA design standards
  • Develop and maintain the basis of design, master specification and master drawings
  • Facilitate the development of project-specific drawings and documentation
  • Lead site due diligence, geotechnical assessment and permitting strategy
  • Create architectural layouts optimised for hot-aisle/cold-aisle, liquid-cooling manifolds and service corridors
  • Analyse structural loads for high-mass DLC racks / air-cooled racks, immersion tanks and seismic compliance
  • Specify fire-rating, floor finishes, acoustics and envelope insulation standards
  • Coordinate with Construction to prefab modular MEP skids and minimise on-site disruption
  • Interface with Mechanical, Electrical and Construction teams through 30/60/90% design reviews
  • Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally to support projects. 20% travel is expected for this role

What we are looking for:

We are looking for someone with a B.S. or B.A.A degree in the Architectural / Civil or Structural engineering discipline. You should also have:

  • 10 + years of CSA design for hyperscale data centres, or clean manufacturing
  • Proficient in Revit, Navisworks, STAAD or RAM; seismic and wind-load expertise
  • Familiar with LEED/BREEAM and lifecycle-carbon accounting
  • Registered Architect or PE‐Structural a plus

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small, highly motivated team providing world-class supercomputing experience to its customers. You will be offered a competitive total compensation package (salary + equity), retirement or pension plan, health, dental, and vision insurance and a generous PTO policy.
