This Registered Nurse position focuses on providing skilled nursing care within a 34-bed acute care medical-surgical unit specializing in gastroenterology and COVID-19 patients. The role involves patient assessment, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. A minimum of two years of experience in medical-surgical nursing is required.

Responsibilities:
- Providing direct patient care, including assessments, medication administration, and treatment planning.
- Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Monitoring patient vital signs and documenting observations.
- Educating patients and their families about their care.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Participating in unit-based activities and quality improvement initiatives.
- Adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
- Minimum of two years of experience in medical-surgical nursing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Special Considerations:
- Must work two major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day) and one minor holiday (Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve) out of the three offered.
- 1900-0730 shift, 16-week assignment.
- Acute GI Med Unit.
- No candidates within 50 miles.
